Conditions for Obtaining a General Authority of Civil Aviation License (GACA-ME Airframe & Powerplant {A&P})

THE STUDENT MUST PASS WITH A GRADE OF 70% OR HIGHER IN ALL SUBJECTS ACCORDING TO THEIR ACADEMIC RECORD.

THE STUDENT’S ATTENDANCE RATE MUST BE 100% IN ALL SUBJECTS ACCORDING TO THEIR ACADEMIC RECORD

Requirements for creating a GACA file at the college (Aviation Regulations Department)

Please make sure to have the following documents ready before you fill out the form:

  • passport-sized photos (3×3) with a white background and head uncovered
  • National ID card (it must be a new ID card that includes the name in both Arabic and English).
  • A valid passport or driver’s license (if the ID card is old).
  • Proof of national address from SPL
  • GACA signature form signed with a black marker pen.

Pre-exam at the college

  1. Study and review the General subject material and schedule a date for the practice test in the Prepware program at the college. Note that the passing grade at the college is 80%.

2. After passing the General test, the following steps will be taken:

    • The student will sign the official GACA license application form only after the first test.
    • Request an invoice for the General test fee of 500 SAR from the GACA.
    • The student will pay the invoice and send the payment receipt to the Aviation Regulations Department via this link [click here].
    • Upon receipt of the payment proof, the department will coordinate with the authority to schedule the test and send the date to the student.
    • After completing the test, the student will send the test result to the Aviation Regulations Department via this link [click here].

3. The same steps will be followed for the Airframe & Powerplant test, without signing the official form, with a fee of 500 SAR per subject.

Written exam at GACA

After finishing the exam at GACA, the results must be shared with Aviation Regulations Department. In case of failure in any of the exams, you may be able to book for the pre-exam again only after 30-days. To book for the pre-exam please use this link.

Oral & Practical Preparation Course

After passing all the computer tests with the GACA, the student will be scheduled to attend refresher training course, which lasts for 5 days.

Oral & Practical Test

  1. After attending the course, the Aviation Regulations Department will coordinate with the student to pay the oral and practical test fees of 2000 SAR and the exam rent location fees of 500 SAR, and will be scheduled for the test.
  2. After passing the test, the Aviation Regulations Department will coordinate with the student to pay the license issuance fee of 300 SAR.

Issuance of GACA-ME License

After passing the Oral & Practical test, the license will be issued by the GACA within 10 business days.
